Are Lite Hash Rate GPUs a problem for rendering, lighting, post-processing, etc.?

I just received an email from the people that I ordered a new rig from and they say they can't get me the graphics card I ordered. But they can get me what is basically the Lite Hash Rate version of the same card. The stats are all the same so I'm OK with it. Except that I don't have any clue what really sets off the algorithm that slow it down if it thinks you're crypto mining. So, I wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience with these types of cards and if they've had any problems...
